Figuring out how to change what can be changed for the better while remembering that it takes decades for cities to change. What gets you up in the morning?
Ideas have power. If enough people decide an idea has merit it can change the way we live. I want to add my voice to that change. How is your work cross-cultural?
Cities are quintessentially cross-cultural. The nature of a particular city is determined by the interactions of the individuals, businesses and institutions that live and work there. Urban planning focuses on improving the physical environment, which is created by a wide range of disciplines including design, politics and government, business and economics, and infrastructure among others).
I am an urban planner focusing on sustainable and healthy development for existing communities. In addition to traditional planning tools, we use geographic information systems and modeling software to evaluate exiting and future development patterns. These tools are also used to engage the public and city governments in an interactive conversation about how to improve the city through policy.
